The Traveling Teacher Show
The Traveling Teacher Show Goes Green... Interactive Green shows Hilarious characters, comical puppets and loads of audience participation will provide eco-cation and Teachers Stefanie Boone and Melissa Stewart teamed up to create and develop the Traveling Teacher Show Goes Green. After years in the classroom, we decided there wasn’t enough being done to educate children about environmental concerns. We became determined to enrich the lives of children by teaching them their role in saving the planet. Putting our creative heads together, we invented a children’s environmental awareness program. We performed our first show in Melissa’s backyard for neighborhood children and have since presented in schools, parks, museums, café kids’ nights and eco-friendly stores. The programs are very interactive as children learn best by "doing" and are packed with easy ways children can make their home, school, community and planet more environmentally friendly. The program includes an eco-shopping Granny, a talking refrigerator named Fridgey that teaches conservation, a reducing, reusing, recycling coach looking for recruits, a crazy flying superhero spreading the green word and a compost making puppet named Org Anic. Children enjoy learning to be responsible citizens of the earth. They leave knowing that although they are “little” they have very big and important roles in saving the planet.
